THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Pale gold in color, the 2020 la Tour Blanche opens with nutty notions of praline and toasted almonds, giving way to a core of peach cobbler, pineapple tart and baked apples, plus spicy wafts of candied ginger and nutmeg. The palate is incredibly concentrated and hedonic, its richness beautifully offset by a wicked backbone of freshness, delivering layer upon layer of nuts, stone fruits and spices, finishing with epic length and impressive lift. Wow!"

WEINWISSER: "Leuchtendes Goldgelb mit lindgrünen Reflexen. Intensives Bouquet mit kandierter Mandarine, Orangenöl und Birnensaft, dahinter am sirupartigen Gaumen mit öliger Textur, dichtmit unterlegter Rasse. Im aromatischen langen Finale eine Explosion mit englischer Orangenkonfitüre, Safran und Akazienhonig. Kann noch zulegen!"

FALSTAFF: "Mittleres Goldgelb, silberfarbene Reflexe. Nuancen von Orangenzesten, ein Hauch von Vanille, gelbe Tropenfrucht ist unterlegt. Komplex, saftig, gut eingebundene Honigsüße, kraftvolle Textur, mineralisch, reife süße Tropenfrucht im Abgang, gutes Entwicklungspotenzial."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Full-bodied and layered with solid phenolic texture, sweetness and intensity. Dried fruit, such as pineapple. Flavorful finish."

DECANTER: "This was still on the lees when tasted, but full of super attractive orange zest and saffron flavours, plenty of depth and concentration, as you would expect with the tiny 1.8hl/ha yields. In conversion to organic farming. New oak barrels for the Sémillon, stainless steel vats for Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Honey coated pineapple, buttery candied orange, lemon zest, flowers and apricots seek and get your attention. Rich, lush, sweet and fresh with ripe and overripe pineapples slathered with honey on the palate, but with enough acidity to maintain freshness."

JANCIS ROBINSON: "Pale orangey gold. That pear-juice/botrytis nose plus light, interesting cheesiness. Good energy and balance. This has some of that tarte Tatin juice character. Weight but not heaviness. Light smokiness. Impressive. But just look at that yield!"

WINE SPECTATOR: "A plump and broad style, with abundant baked apple, dried apricot, creamed mango, toasted almond and pie crust flavors. Features a flash of green tea on the finish, which gives this good energy in the end. A strong effort for the vintage. Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle.
