THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Fans of white Bordeaux wine need to be all over this gem. One sniff, and sip, and you are hooked. I do not know where to start. Complete in every way, the wine kicks off with a nose that explodes with its orange rind, honeysuckle, lemon puree, flowers, green apples, spice, and herbs. As striking as that was, it is the incredible purity in the endless waves of citrus, and yellow tropical fruits that seal the deal. From there, the only thing left is the electric, seamless finish that once it gets started, it doesn't want to quit. This gem competes with many of the worlds great wines, and it sells for a fraction of what they sell for. The wine blends 75% Sauvignon Blanc, and 25% Semillon. This is the best white wine ever produced by the Bernard family at Domaine de Chevalier. Don't miss it! Drink from 2024-2050."

JAMES SUCKLING: "A serious nose with great depth and complexity here. Fine oak spices, chalk, meringue, lanolin and a twist of praline/pistachio to the intense lemons, honeyed gooseberries and mineral. Extremely harmonious with a deliciously saline touch to the center palate. Medium- to full-bodied, with a persistent but elegant and subtle finish that lasts almost a minute. 70% sauvignon blanc and 30% semillon. Already a joy to taste and drink, but will hold well over the next 15 years at least. Drink or hold."

WEINWISSER: "Der weiße Domaine de Chevalier 2021 hat eine feine, superfrische Nase, ist sehr konzentriert und hat nur etwas Akazienhonig in der Kopfnote. Sehr klar und weit am Gaumen aufgespannt, ist dies ein großer Domaine de Chevalier mit enormen Zitrusnoten und massiver, mineralischer Textur auf der Zunge. Druckund kraftvoll, extrem verdichtet und salzig, wird er sich schon bald öffnen, aber vermutlich auch lange haltbar sein."

FALSTAFF: "Mittleres Gelbgrün, silberfarbene Reflexe. Zart nach Grapefruit, feine gelbe Tropenfruchtanklänge, mineralischer Touch, etwas Limetten und Litschis sind unterlegt. Schlank, weißes Kernobst, integrierte Säurestruktur, mineralisch, mittlere Länge, bietet großes Trinkvergnügen, aber auch Reifepotenzial, eindrucksvoller Ergebnis."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "A blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon, the 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc sails from the glass, after a swirl of two, with a gorgeous perfume of spiced apples, grapefruit oil, and orange blossoms, leading to wafts of sea spray and paraffin wax. The medium-bodied palate has a gorgeous satiny texture juxtaposing the racy backbone and supporting the apple and citrus layers, finishing long and perfumed."

DECANTER: "Clean and clear, a nice weight to the palate here, slightly oily and full with honeyed lemon tones, some bitter grapefruit and crisp green apple. Lots of complexity and nuance, well built, a serious wine with an acidic backbone, long length and lifted finish accented by a stone, flinty minerality. Lovely potential and great drinkability on offer."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is a blend of 70% Sauvignon and 30% Sémillon that matured for 18 months in barrels, of which 35% were new. Delivering a deep, complex bouquet that features aromas of spices, white pepper, elderflower, citrus oil and wet stones, it's full-bodied, round and generous, with a satiny attack that segues into a fleshy, vibrant palate, concluding with a pure and precise finish."

JEB DUNNUCK: "Mostly Sauvignon Blanc (there's 30% Semillon), the 2021 Domaine De Chevalier Blanc offers beautiful tart citrus, honeyed minerality, and sappy, floral notes in a fresh, focused, racy style that still brings beautiful depth and richness. It's more tight and reserved than the L'Esprit and needs 2-4 years in the cellar. It's another classy, vibrant, age-worthy beauty from this brilliant estate."

JANCIS ROBINSON: "Subtle notes of oak (mealy, creamy) in this expressive and aromatic wine; packed with citrus purity and that suggestion of oak. This has real depth of fruit on the mid palate, bright freshness in harmony with the firm, leesy texture. Both vibrant and serious with a long grapefruit-like aftertaste wound round the fulness of the Sémillon texture. Lovely wine with great length."

WINE SPECTATOR: "This has a bit of flamboyance, with orange curd and elderflower notes rippling along the edges of a bright yellow apple and honeysuckle core. Shows a salted butter accent on the finish. A delightfully expressive white. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2031."
