DECANTER: "Le Veau is another parcel in the Quarts de Chaume appellation. Full, powerful and rich, with an attractive, mouthfilling texture and a long finish, although a little less tension than Rouères. The 1.68ha southwest-facing Le Veau parcel was replanted between 2010 and 2016 on schist. 2020 was an ‘easy’ vintage – no spring frosts but plenty of rain followed by a hot, dry summer and some rain before harvest. It was picked on 14 September with a yield of 27hl/ha. Fermented and aged in barrels of 228 and 400 litres with an average age of five years for 14 months and bottled on 23 November 2021."
