James Suckling: "Plum stones, walnuts, orange rind and dried flowers on the nose. Some mocha and nutmeg. It’s medium- to full-bodied, polished and fragrant, with layers of spiced fruit framed by tight, very fine tannins. Long and evolving. Best from 2026."

Weinwisser: "Der 21er zeigt sich noch sehr jugendlich nach der Füllung, mit satter, dunkler und massiver Merlot-Power. Dabei verfügt er auch über sehr feine Gerbstoffe und sein delikates Terroir kommt voll zur Geltung. Verdichtet, lang und finessenreich, sehr vielversprechender Pomerol, der mit weiterer Reife sicher noch zulegen wird."

Decanter: "Red berries and herbal strawberry leaf on the nose. Smooth and supple, a nice energy to this straight away, juicy core with slightly metallic tannins that coat the mouth and give the frame. Delicate in style but still with lots of flavour. Refined and well worked, it's missing the plushness that can be so brilliant at this estate but there is good fruit vibrancy and clarity and this has character. I like it. Feels serious albeit with no heaviness. Tannins are good and feels like the ageing and oak treatment was right."

Falstaff: "Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Nach feinem Cassis, schwarze Waldbeeren, mit Brombeerkonfitüre unterlegt, ein Hauch von Kräuterwürze und Tabak. Engmaschig, straff, mineralisch, rote Beerenfrucht, feine, tragende Tannine, mineralisch, noch etwas unterentwickelt, wird von weiterer Flaschenreife profitieren."

This carries to a medium-bodied, round, mouth-filling 2021 that has velvety tannins, good overall balance, and outstanding length. It offers ample pleasure today yet will cruise in cold cellars over the coming 15 years or more. It's an outstanding Pomerol."

It jumps from the glass with ready-to-go notes of juicy blackberries, Morello cherries, and spice cake, followed by suggestions of Darjeeling tea and black olives. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled, with bags of freshness and soft, approachable tannins, finishing with a skip in its step."
