JAMES SUCKLING: "This is a dense and juicy red with characters of blackberries, chocolate and pine needles. Sweet tobacco, too. Full body and round, polished tannins. A more dialed-in, terroir character than in past vintages. 88% cabernet sauvignon, 7% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia has slightly muted black cherries, crushed black plums and cassis with hints of licorice, black soil and cracked pepper plus a waft of tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, rich and expressive in the mouth, it delivers a lot of layers and wonderfully fine tannins, finishing long and earthy."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Fresh, live, elegant and pure, the wine offers refined, sweet, dark cherry notes, licorice, thyme and cigar leaf notes. You can enjoy this wine on release and for at least another 10-15 more years."

WINE SPECTATOR: "Juicy and engaging, with red currant and plum fruit, stitched tightly with chalky tannins, grilled savory and singed chestnut notes. A touch old-school in feel, but the core of fruit is ripe and authoritative. Best from 2022 through 2034. 1,975 cases made."

JANCIS ROBINSON: "Deep blackish crimson.Interesting, savoury notes on the nose – appetising. Lots of sweetness on palate entry and then balsam notes on the end. Quite racy and accessible – even pretty. French-influenced (?) dry finish and still some tannins to be resolved."
