JAMES SUCKLING: "It was wonderful to find this bottle in a wine bar in Tokyo just after tasting the legendary 1990 in Hong Kong a few days before. Granted, I don´t think the 1990 Beausejour I had in Hong Kong was a prefect bottle but the 1982 certainly very close. Great stuff. It was so complex with fabulous aromas of chocolate, spice and berry. So much intensity to it with a full body and a flavorful finish. This is a wine to seek out. Crazy quality. And not showing any sign of decline in quality."

WINE SPECTATOR: "Amazingly dark ruby in color, with a slightly red edge. Complex aromas of berry, dried cherry, mineral and spice. Full-bodied and tannic, yet well integrated and very youthful. Still backward.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal. Best after 2000."
