JAMES SUCKLING: "This is seriously structured with blackcurrants, blueberries and iodine. It’s full yet so tight and focused with serious austerity and focus. Very classy and polished with precision. A terrific Siran. Try after 2026."

WINE ENTHUSIAST: "From an estate in the southern part of Margaux, this wine has just the right mix of rich tannins and taut black-currant flavors to give upfront freshness and potential for further aging. Structured and fruity, it should be drunk from 2027."

DECANTER: "Ripe and rich black fruits on the nose, smells heady and fully aromatic in a fruit-forward way, with blackcurrants, berries and sweet Ribena edges. Juicy and supple, nicely lively in the mouth, high acidity, with quite present tannins that are a little bit chalky and enjoyably bitter. Lovely viscous texture at first, with plenty of acidity and succulence, feels extremely youthful and on the edgy side right now, but is rounded, forward and full in body. It's on the richer, riper side and a has a touch of sweet jamminess to it alongside spiced nuance and some terroir influence via the cool, minty salinity. Extremely likeable and one to watch."

FALSTAFF: "Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, tiefer Kern, zarte Ockerrandaufhellung. Zart floral unterlegte Nuancen von Cassis und frischen Kirschen, aber auch Roten Ribiseln, zarte Kräuterwürze, feines Bukett. Straff, elegant, rote Herzkirschen, integrierte, tragende Tannine, mineralisch und engmaschig im Abgang, verfügt über Länge und Entwicklungspotenzial."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "The complex nose opens with espresso, spice, smoke, mint leaves and an array of red pit fruits. The palate experience is even better with its layers of creamy, fresh, sweet, luscious fruits and silky tannins and touch of chocolate and spice that kicks in at the end of the long finish. Give this a year or two in the cellar and enjoy it over the following 2 decades. Siran is the best deal in high quality wine in the Margaux appellation today. Drink from 2024-2050."

WINE SPECTATOR: "A ripe but understated style, with alluring notes of black tea and cedar shavings infusing a core of gently mulled black cherry and plum fruit. The sneaky long finish is silky and refined. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2025 through 2036. 8,500 cases made, 3,000 cases imported."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Siran features notes of blackcurrant jelly, ripe redcurrants and raspberry leaves, plus suggestions of wild sage, tar and underbrush, with a waft of wild mushrooms. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, delivering approachable, soft tannins and plenty of red berry layers, finishing earthy."

WEINWISSER: "Sattes Purpur mit opaker Mitte und zartem lila Rand. Verspieltes Bouquet mit Flieder und Veilchen, dahinter schwarze Johannisbeere, Lakritze und Holundergelee. Am vielschichtigen Gaumen mit cremiger Textur, mehliges Extrakt und muskulöser Körper. Im gebündelten Finale schwarzbeerige Konturen, Wacholder und dunkles Graphit, endet mit spröder Adstringenz, aufgerundet."
