Ein unglaublicher Flight...

Eigentlich wollten wir den Wein noch eine Weile zurückhalten, doch dann sitzen wir vergangene Woche in einem unserer Lieblingsrestaurants mit guten und höchst Wein-affinen Freunden, jeder adäquat mit Flaschen aus dem eigenen Keller ausgestattet. Der letzte Flight zum Käse, einer der fünf 2010er Bordeaux Premier Cru, bewertet mit 99 Parker Punkten und 2010 ARAUJO EISELE VINEYARD, eine höchst interessante Paarung.   Nun ist 2010 in Bordeaux bekanntermaßen einer der ganz großen Bordeaux-Jahrgänge, jeder einzelne der 5 Premier Cru alleine sorgt bereits für Ehrfurcht. Nur dann kam, was kommen sollte und wahrscheinlich musste – übrigens einhellige Meinung aller fünf Anwesenden - 2010 ARAUJO EISELE VINEYARD hatte mit Abstand die Nase vorne. Blind hätte man uns wohl vorgeworfen, die Flaschen vertauscht zu haben, aber 2010 ARAUJO EISELE VINEYARD hatte einfach mehr zu offerieren, außer Holz, da hatte Bordeaux die Nase und den Gaumen vorne:

BART ARAUJO befindliche, berühmte EISELE VINEYARD ist jedem ein Begriff, Phelps, Ridge, Conn Creek, so viele vinifizierten hieraus die besten Weine ihrer Weinkarriere. Im Jahr 2013 kaufte CHATEAU LATOUR das Weingut, aufgrund des herausragenden Eisele Weinberges und bekanntermaßen entsteht der Wein ja im Weinberg, nicht im Keller. Grandiose Weine wurden hier nämlich schon seit Dekaden vinifiziert.   98 JAMES SUCKLING:
"The aromas to this wine are very complex and brooding with black currant, sage and spearmint. Sous bois and wet earth too. Then turns to black fruits. Entrancing nose. This is full-bodied yet tight and focused with compressed tannins and a long finish. Very intense volcanic sea salt to the wine. A much more subtle and mind-provoking style. "A stunner in every sense. The wine is almost opaque in color, with its deep purple hues. The licorice, smoke, blackberry, blue fruit, vanilla bean and liqueur scents are in full force. Powerful, yet graceful, full bodied, but fresh, the wine stains your palate, and feels great as it coats your mouth with its opulent, very ripe, sweet layers of fruit. Yes, it´s young, and frankly it is already delicious! This bottle was popped and poured. No decanting necessary." 97 THE WINEADVOCATE:
"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is a relatively powerful statement from the new owners. Dense ruby/purple in color, with an exceptional nose of crème de cassis, a touch of mulberry and spice. The oak is completely obscured by the lavish, concentrated, ripe fruit and multi-dimensional mid-palate that expands beautifully, but with no sense of heaviness. The wine is rich and full-bodied, but with velvety tannin and stunning purple and black fruits. This is a beauty, with savoriness that’s hard to articulate. The finish goes on for a good 45+ seconds. This is a beauty that’s velvety, opulent and capable of drinking well now or in 25 to 30+ years." 18.5 JANCIS ROBINSON:
"This vintage was apparently blended under the aegis of new director Frédéric Engerer of Ch Latour. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon for the first time since 1991 and 1992. The nose is already a miracle of subtlety and gorgeousness. Sweet and mineral, it has particularly refined tannins.
