DECANTER: "There is often a touch more Merlot in the blend at Poyferré than at the other two Léovilles, and you feel this in the soft brambly fruits that give this a gentle silky feel, with a woodsmoke and fireside character. It's a lovely wine with plenty of St-Julien balance and elegance, but is less concentrated than you find in more recent years from this estate. 50% new oak."

WEINWISSER: "Nur ganz wenig Reifereflexe. Ausladendes, geöffnetes Bouquet, feine Waldbodentöne, noch immer etwas Frucht anzeigend. Im Gaumen mittelgewichtig und trotzdem mit fülligem Fett umgeben, runde Tannine, jetzt wunderschön."
