WINE ENTHUSIAST: "Spicy and dry, this ripe wine is as much about structure as sweetness at this stage. It is dense, packed with acidity and fragrant acacia and wildflower honey. As it opens up, it brings out orange zest and perfumed acidity. Drink from 2019."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The impressive Lafaurie Peyraguey has a light but well-defined, almond-scented nose with a satisfactory level of botrytis. With aeration, hints of pineapple begin to emerge with aromas of vanilla and white peach. The palate is medium-bodied with a very composed, very pure entry and a keen thread of acidity. It shows admirable weight and botrytization, with a gorgeous spicy finish that has impressive persistency. Drink 2015-2035."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "I like Sauternes when it's mature and when it's on the young side. And there's nothing wrong with that, as variety is the spice of life. Right? This already a delicious, sweet treat that pops with apricot, pineapple and white nectarines topped with vanilla, honey and roasted nuts. Fresh, vibrant, sweet and lush, with a tropical slant in the finish, this is only going to get better over the years."

WINE SPECTATOR: "Packs in a range of tropical and orchard fruits, with mango and papaya notes flirting with quince, yellow apple and creamed peach details. Delivers singed brioche and almond cream accents on the finish, which sports a youthfully raw edge. Should be very solid when it settles in. Best from 2016 through 2030. 2,245 cases made. –JM"
